Challenges of Being an Activist

By Emy Louie. Edited by MM.

After committing to how we want to do something, about a cause or situation, etc., perhaps we should settle down, and come to a deeper acceptance of things, coupled with the slight notion of envisioning another way–instead of getting caught up in a fanatical desire to change things.

Submitting to another person’s instruction (their thoughts and choices) might be completely needed.  However, at some point, in the day or night, we check in with ourselves and go within, via prayer and meditation, to help ourselves navigate the true from the false and to know how we fit into God’s plan.

The part that we can monitor is our vibrations–or own sense of love and fear–positive and negative–within ourselves.  Calling something positive or negative is a tricky thing because we don’t have the capacity nor the authority to judge something right or wrong.  We think we do–however, it’s beyond our abilities.

On a pragmatic level, for example, on Facebook, in order to monitor the positive and negative within myself, I make a point to post 80% positive things and 20% “negative” things that I think need to be brought to our consciousness.  Our minds and egos seem to be drawn to the sensational and the negative, so a strong leaning towards positive posts is needed.  At least that’s what I try to do.
